WeWidget

Widget not showing on my website

Your reviews widget should appear within a few seconds of the page loading. If it's not visible, one of these five causes is almost always responsible.

1

Embed code pasted in the wrong location

The <script> tag must go inside the <body> element, not <head>. Most website builders have a "custom code" or "HTML block" section — paste the full embed code there.

2

Ad blocker or browser extension blocking the widget

Open your website in a private/incognito browser window (which disables extensions). If the widget appears, an ad blocker is the cause. Your visitors likely won't have the same blocker.

3

Browser cache showing the old version of the page

After pasting your embed code, do a hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac. This clears the cached version of your page.

4

Incorrect widget ID in the embed code

Go to your WeWidget dashboard → Widget page → copy a fresh embed code. The data-widget-id attribute must exactly match your widget ID. Do not edit the code manually.

5

Website builder blocking external JavaScript

Some platforms (especially Shopify and Squarespace) require you to enable "allow external scripts" in your theme or page settings. Check your site builder's help docs for "custom HTML" or "custom code."
